Relay definition
Relay is an electrical control device that can use a small electrical signal to control the circuit switch of a large current. The relay drives the internal mechanical or electronic switch through the electromagnetic principle or other excitation methods to achieve the on-off control of the circuit. It plays an important control and protection role in various automatic control systems.
Types of relays
Electromagnetic relay: mechanical action, the contacts can switch large currents, and are often used in motor control, lighting control, and load switching in power systems, industrial control, automotive electronics and other fields.
Solid-state relay: no mechanical contacts, using semiconductor device switches, with longer life and faster response speed. Commonly used in household appliances, industrial automation, digital circuit control, etc.
Time relay: control the action of the contacts according to the set time delay. Used for delayed start and delayed shutdown control.
Temperature relay: control the contact action according to changes in ambient temperature. Used for over-temperature protection and temperature control systems.
Current relay: It acts when the current in the circuit reaches the set value, and is used to protect the circuit or equipment.
Voltage relay: It acts when the voltage in the circuit exceeds or falls below the set value. It is used for voltage protection and power supply monitoring.
As a key control element, relays are widely used in various automatic control systems, power protection equipment and household appliances. They can use low-power control signals to control high-power circuits, thereby realizing automatic control, protection and logical operations of circuits.
