Founded in 2012, LightWare LiDAR is a global leader in microLiDAR sensor technology. LightWare develops innovative laser rangefinder products for machine perception applications, providing "eyes to machines" by designing and manufacturing the world's smallest and lightest precision LiDAR systems for use in drones, robotic machines, autonomous vehicles, smart cities, and other applications. LightWare Optoelectronics has established a subsidiary in the USA, LightWare LiDAR LLC. By establishing LightWare LiDAR LLC in Boulder, Colorado, LightWare aims to streamline logistics and better serve its global customer base. In the short term, larger orders will continue to be dispatched from the factory in South Africa. The company plans to gradually expand this presence to include sales and support staff in the USA. Additionally, LightWare has plans to expand its operations into Europe. LightWare is a majority women-led firm.
